Ingredients
  

  • 3 packets of Japanese-style udon noodles
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ pound shrimp cleaned and deveined
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • ½ cup finely sliced green onions

Method
 

  1. In a large pot over high heat, briefly cook the Japanese-style udon noodles for about 30 seconds to separate them. Transfer the noodles to a mixing bowl.
  2. Toss the udon noodles with sesame oil to prevent sticking and enhance flavor.
  3. In a large skillet over high heat, add vegetable oil and sauté shredded cabbage with soy sauce and sugar until caramelized.
  4. Add minced garlic and cleaned shrimp to the skillet. Cook until the shrimp is pink and cooked through.
  5. Sprinkle red pepper flakes for added spice.
  6. Add the cooked udon noodles to the skillet and toss with oyster sauce until well combined.
  7. Garnish with finely sliced green onions.
